Table Magic: This is magic performed at and not by a table. A great ice breaker at functions where your guests are seated at, or preferably, around a table. Whether it is a Wedding breakfast, dinner party, reunion, business lunch or mess room, this form of magic is great especially if not all the people at the table know each other since it is a great conversation starter.
Depending upon seating arrangements, Chris, using both traditional props, everyday objects, and his unique psychological readings, to entertain the table in small groups or as a whole where everything happens not only right in front of you, but very often in your own hands!
Although very flexible some consideration should be taken to the following points,
Seating arrangements: Ideally groups would be seated at a round table of up to twelve to allow the whole table to enjoy the experience together. It can be difficult on long straight tables for one end to see what is happening at the other end, but it can still be adequately covered. However the seating is arranged, as in many venues you have little choice, there does need to be adequate space to move around the table.
Food: Due to the inherent dangers to both guests and Chris of their rapidly moving cutlery and glasses whilst he is performing, this should be avoided wherever possible. This can be done with good timing and co-ordination with the caterers as seldom are all the tables served at the same time so Chris can perform at tables waiting, moving round between courses.
Group Size: Generally a group of up to 100 -120 can be entertained by one magician, also dependent on the time allowed for the performance. If however the number of guests will be larger or there is a shorter time span, a second or even third magician may be required. Chris is happy to work with any other magician you care to hire or is able to organise this for you from a select list of personal friends to ensure you get the level of skill and entertainment you deserve.
Noise Level: A large part of the performance is Chris’s interaction with the guests and loud music will detract immensely from the entertainment. Background music is fine, but unless there is a separate “quiet zone” where Chris can perform, better value for money could be achieved by possibly changing the timing or using the time whilst the band is on a break.
Speeches, Announcements and Presentations: As any of such will be very important to your day, to ensure everybody’s attention is focused, please give Chris notice as to when these will occur; a quiet word in the ear is sufficient and he can finish to suit.
